Unrestored 1975 Sopru camper. Hubert to us. Fully functional camper with 3 way fridge and dual battery system (no fitted gas bottle or cooker). Has been used as a daily driver and camping adventures for the past five years. He is not the prettiest looking Kombi due to an amateur paint job in the past. Has a few bumps and bruises. Since we have owned him the engine has been rebuilt with new KS bearings, AA barrels and pistons, new AMC heads, new cam, lifters, valve adjusters, clutch, Ernst muffler and engine mounts, rebuilt carbs including rebushed throttle shafts. The transmission was also overhauled at the same time, three years 30,000 ks ago. New rear brakes, shoes, wheel cylinders, drum machine. New front brakes, rotors, pads, calipers overhauled. Front end has had all ball joints replaced in the time we have had him, all tie rod ends, steering centre pin rebushed, new German front shocks. The rear end has two new CV boots and new hand brake cables. The vehicle has just been serviced and has a year old battery and new regulator. Yes there is some rust in the usual places, front steps, battery tray, outer sills, though good floors, jacking points, etc. Incuded is original folding step for sliding door not fitted, new VW battery tray and outer sill panel, spare clutch and throttle cables, don't leave home without them. A great cruiser, have spent many happy miles behind the wheel.
